Artist of the Week 2009/21

19 year old Christelle Avomo entered the Billboard Top 40 R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales chart in May 2009! In 2006, she emigrated from Gabon in West Africa to Las Vegas without being able to speak a word of English, and her music career only began 18 months ago when she started taking singing lessons. She now runs her own business management and marketing team, and is still available for record and management deals. Don't miss reading and listening to this fairy tale!


Christelle describes her sound as "Rihanna meets Janet Jackson". When growing up in Gabon, she listened to African, French and American music - mostly Beyonce, Ashanti, Brandy, and 50 Cent, even though she didn’t understand the English lyrics.

In 2008 she teamed up with producers Don McGann and Neil Ebanks. A year later she recorded ‘Can You Handle Me’ ft. Agacee and ‘What You Gon' Do Wit It’ ft. Dizzy D which made it to No.1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales chart.
