Dublin singer and songwriter Simon Fagan is recording his debut album with help from producer Martin Quinn (Brian Kennedy, Juliet Turner). He is available for record and publishing deals.
Brought up in Navan in a family of six boys, Simon Fagan’s musical career started at an early age when he joined the local brass band before he was then sent to school on a music scholarship. He went on to study trumpet and composition at both the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
After graduating he spent a couple of years singing with a number of bands in both Glasgow and Dublin before going solo in late 2007. It was then that he started writing music closer to him and has since opened for Lionel Richie and Smokey Robinson, as well as performed lead vocals at the Beatles’ ‘Love’ Concert at the National Concert Hall.
Simon uses elements of jazz and soul to produce his own take on old-fashioned rock and roll. His debut EP, ‘Hired And Fired’, was released through SiAn Records in early March ‘09 and accompanied by tours in both Ireland and the UK that saw him play over fifty gigs and appear on over twenty radio shows including nine BBC radio shows.
In September 2009, Simon Fagan and his band embarked on an eight date tour of where east meets west, Egypt. The trip, which will be the focus of a documentary, saw Simon and his entourage travel out to the desert to perform for one of the oldest tribes in the world, the nomadic Bedouin Tribe. He will also perform live on national television and radio (Nile TV/Nile FM) during the tour, as well as support slots for one of Egypt’s biggest bands, Ressala.

"It's rare to find a band as young as [Maroon 5] were who play drums and guitars but aren't a stereotypical rock band. My thought was their music was advanced for its time, but when the album came out it would be where music was going. Sure enough ..." Interview with Ben Berkman, EVP at A&M/Octone for Maroon 5
