Fans will tell you that he has a voice that is distinctive and resonates with energy which is evident in his dancehall and ragga soca tracks.
Born in Guyana, South America a former British colony, he started singing in his church; he could be heard on any given Sunday thrilling the congregation with his heavy baritone voice.
His music is a blend of soca his main genre (which has its beginnings in calypso), and reggae. He is considered one of the best ragga soca artist out of the region.
In 2004 as a member of the group Da Bhann, Sparkey toured with Atlantic Recording artist Kevin Lyttle, because of his unique voice he was able to replace reggae artist Spragga Benz and Jamesy P on Kevin's songs.
His award winning CD "Sparkey & Friends Back 2 Basics" reflects his dedication to his music, from the soul searching soca track "Caught Up", to the dancehall tribute "Sexy Lady", Sparkey's command of the genres of soca and reggae is unmistakable.
Sparkey has shared the stage, with Kevin Lyttle, Ja Rule, Daddy Yankee, Buju Banton and many others, and performed all over the world with the group Da Bhann until 2006 when he left to persue a solo career.
